Composed for children in 1968 by Gozitan composer Joseph Vella (1942-2018), this little opera is scored for 4 young soloists, a children’s choir, and a small music ensemble. This production will feature 4 young Gozitan soloists, the SCJ Children’s Choir (chorus mistress: Marouska Attard), the VPA Dance Department (choreographer: Christabel Bajada), and the Classique Ensemble (made up from international and local musicians). The Artistic direction will be in the hands of Gordon J. Grech whereas the musical direction is entrusted to Joseph Debrincat. Actors Marion Sayers and George Camilleri will also feature in this production.
